Questions about Teeth Whitening

Is it safe?

Dental whitening is one of the safest, most conservative ways to improve the appearance of your teeth, providing it is carried out by a fully qualified dentist. It does not damage your enamel in any way unlike veneers or crowns.

How long does it take?

You need to have a 30 minute consultation with the dentist. Moulds can also be taken of the teeth during this appointment. Two weeks later you can pick up your moulds and start bleaching.

It takes two weeks of bleaching overnight at home and then with our ultimate whitening you come back for a 1 hour dentist administered power boost to give you that extra colour lift. If you are on a tight schedule then you can get your trays express delivered within 4-5 working days.

Will it work?

The bleaching products we use are gold standard and offer predictable results, far more so than non-peroxide or laser whitening. With our ultimate whitening you get a B1 guarantee. If you are not shade B1 by the end of your treatment then you can have more treatment free of charge.

Will my teeth be sensitive?

Some clients do experience sensitivity but both the products we use have inbuilt desensitising agents and we have lots of tricks up our sleeve to minimise it. Our ultimate whitening, in particular, boasts near zero sensitivity unlike 1 hour laser whitening which most people find very sensitive and uncomfortable.

What happens about my white fillings or crowns?

They will not bleach so if they are in the front of the mouth then you may find there is a mismatch of shades after whitening. However, lots of clients do not want to settle for sticking with their existing dental appearance and would rather choose to whiten their teeth and then replace their restorations to match their new whiter smile.

Why don’t I just do a 60-minute whitening offer from Groupon?

The legal concentration of bleach that dentists can use has recently decreased from 35% to 8% and so the results you can get with one hours bleaching do not compare to the results that can be achieved with home bleaching. Also one hour laser whitening can be very sensitive and will fade within 6 months to a year, meaning you have to pay in full again. With our products you can top up easily and cheaply as you have your own set of customised bleaching trays

Will my teeth look too white like some celebrities?

Our products will only whiten your teeth to their whitest possible natural shade. Celebrities often have veneers or crowns, which is why they look un-naturally white.

What happens if it doesn’t work?

Both our products are peroxide based and will whiten all teeth. Our ultimate whitening guarantees vita shade B1 regardless of your starting shade, diet or habits.

How can I maintain my white teeth?

We recommend all clients continue with our whitening maintenance programme, which ensures that you should always maintain your new whiter shade.

Will I be suitable?

The majority of clients will be suitable for tooth whitening. If you are found to be unsuitable after your initial consultation, we will refund your deposit in full.

Questions about anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers

Is it safe?

Botulin Toxin A is used by the NHS safely for a variety of treatments. Clinical studies have shown it is safe in the quantities used for anti-wrinkle injections.

Will I still have facial expression?

We deliver a bespoke consultation and treatment for every client. It is our job to fully discuss with you what result you would like to achieve and use our skill and expertise to deliver you the outcome you are looking for. We can perform ‘baby Botox ®’ which is a much more subtle result or provide a more dramatic result.

How long will it last?

Anti-wrinkle injections take 1 week to work and last 3-4 months. Dermal fillers have an immediate result and last 9-12 months.

Why will a dentist be good at doing facial aesthetics?

Dentists specialise in head and neck anatomy and spend their career perfecting their manual dexterity so they are ideally placed to deliver facial aesthetics.

Can you get rid of all my wrinkles?

Not all wrinkles can be treated fully. The dentist will discuss with each client what can be achieved before commencing treatment. With deeper wrinkles filler may be required.

Am I too young?

Wrinkles develop in the same way that folding and unfolding a piece of paper repeatedly will generate a crease. If you reduce the movement of the facial muscles then wrinkles will form less and existing wrinkles will soften. Some clients use anti-wrinkle injections in a preventative capacity from a younger age.
