Who is White Swan? – A mini interview with the directors

Mother Cindy and daughter Imogen have started the UK’s first medical aesthetic agency – White Swan Aesthetics. They have a portfolio of highly qualified doctors and dentists with enhanced qualifications in anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and teeth whitening and place them in luxury beauty salons across the UK including the beautiful Old Brewhouse Spa and Hair in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, Harley Street, Surrey, Clapham, Wimbledon and North London.

How does the mother-daughter relationship benefit the business?

A mother-daughter business relationship is one like no other. You can ask each other to do crazy, impossible or unpleasant tasks that you wouldn’t dare ask from any other business associate and the best thing is you don’t even have to sugar coat it. Then sharing the success together is 100% sweeter.

What do you like to do together?

We both have our own daytime professions – my mum is a lawyer and I am a dentist. So starting this business together has become our new weekend hobby and watching it grow and thrive is more fun than any shopping trip! We love exploring new coffee shops to catch up on admin and plotting our next move towards ruling the medical aesthetic world! Rewarding ourselves with cupcakes is always the best bit though.

What would you say to anyone to anyone considering teaming up in business with their mum or daughter?

Prepare yourselves for the unexpected. Prepare yourselves that one minute you will be to be clattering full pelt in high heels to an event – you wrestling with balloons and your mum with the party bags and the next minute you will be up till 3am planning your marketing strategy.

Prepare to add a whole new dimension to your relationship – starting a business together will be all-consuming and all you think and talk about.

Most unexpectedly of all, prepare to have the time of your life. For mum and me, it has been the most fun and exciting thing we have ever embarked upon together.
